Italian Open 2006, Bronze medal 2006 and 2002 European Championships,
Currently ranked No.1 in the UK (BPPPA) and No.3 in Europe. Last
16 2004 World Pool Championship.
After a couple of good years, Imran has now established himself
as one of the best players in Britain and Europe. In Monfalcon,
Italy in May, Imran took down some of the finest players on the
EuroTour before beating Thomas Engert in the final to become
the first English player ever to win in the 14 year history of
the tour. Mind you, Majid had reached three semi-finals in 2005 – Belgium,
Switzerland and the Costa del Sol so his victory was well deserved.
On the UK scene, Majid has dominated over the past few years
along with Raj Hundal and Daryl Peach, and is now looking to
really establish himself on the world stage. Highly-rated technically,
Majid will be looking to build on a fantastic last 12 months
and with some big tournaments coming up, he will be in good shape.
Imran squares up to Alex Lely in the first round and will fancy
his chances of springing an upset. If he clears that hurdle he’ll
be up against the winner of Souquet and Reyes – a true test
for any pool player.
